WEEKEND TRIPS
Kiteboarding - Ludington, Michigan
The forecast for the Western side of Michigan called for wind, so Sean packed up his kiteboarding gear, some clothes and packed the 12V refrigerator for weekend in Ludington Michigan to kiteboard with a few friends. He reserved a campsite at Ludington State Park and enjoyed the wind, waves and sun for a short weekend.
Frankenmuth Balloon Festival
We headed up to Frankenmuth Michigan with the dogs to check out the Dog Event and Balloon Festival. Was ot reat to see all the dog events including the long jump water contest, but the balloon races and evening light show were the hit of the visit. We stayed overnight in the parking lot and at dawn, the balloons flew right over our van and landed right next to us.
west side get-away - Saugatuk, Michigan
We both took off for two nights in Western Michigan to explore a town we have not spent much time at: Saugatuck. We utilized Harvest Host again to reserve a spot at a winery for the first night and an Alpaca farm for the second night.
We are a puppy raiser for the Leader Dog for the Blind in Rochester, MI, so we traveled with Cheddar, to find out how well the van works while traveling with a dog.
Tawas State Park Kiteboarding
Kiteboarding - East Tawas, Michigan
East Tawas is top Michigan kiteboarding destination. The State Park is located on a peninsula that extends into Lake Huron.
Sean likes to take off for a few days with all his toys and kiteboard, bike and kayak and overnight at the State Park in the van.
Michigan Football Tailgating
Big 10 Football Tailgating - State College, Pennsylvania
Yearly, we met our Payne cousins in Ann Arbor or State College to root on our football teams. Not only does the van prove to be a great home base for the tailgate, it also provides power and heat for those cold fall football days.

The van was home base for some early season bird hunting. The rear seating area worked out well while we waited out the rain in comfort before doing some partridge hunting.
Memorial Day Weekend in Northern Michigan
We went up to Northern Michigan with Carly and our e-bikes and stayed at a brewery near Indian River thru Harvest Host, a Cracker Barrel in Traverse City and a State Campground near Manistee, Michigan. We explored Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Charlevoix, Traverse City, Northport, Lealand, Empire and Luddington.
