Design It | Build It | Use It
Michele and I decided to build our dream exploration vehicle while working from home thanks to Covid. Working hard over the winter, step by step, the van transformed from a cargo van without windows into the “glamper” van for us to enjoy and explore in.
Within this website I provide an overview my 2020 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 build and some of the adventures we have taken in our first three years with it.

Design It
Our first step was researching what others had done, downloading pictures and watching countless van-tour videos on YouTube.
For our design, we implemented many of the ideas we found during or research and the developed a number of unique solutions of our own. Feel free to consider these for your van.
Build It
After we completed our design, we developed a spreadsheet that listed all the component details, costs and time estimates so we had a good estimate of the entire van project we were about to begin. Utilizing our garage workshop, driveway and sometimes the living room, we made quick progress thru the steps following our research and plan as our guide.
Use IT
Time to get out on the road and explore in our new adventure vehicle. We are now into year four and have more that 50k miles on the van. Check out some of our day-trips, weekend trips and week-long vacations we have enjoyed so far into our van journey.
